Where?
Playa Venao, Pedasi, Panama is a tranquil beach town, nestled at the bottom of the Azuero Peninsula. With its stunning 3km long, crescent shaped beach, you find paradise where the jungle filled mountains meet the ocean. World renowned as a surfing paradise for all levels (and any age), the sandy beach and rolling waves create a dream waiting to be lived.
Playa Venao is about a 5.5 hour drive from the airport, PTY. It is worth the drive!
The great thing about this retreat is WE TAKE CARE OF EVERYTHING! From getting you from the airport to The Hotel Executive where you can rest after your flight, enjoy a good dinner and load up the following morning with the rest of your retreat group and our amazing shuttle drivers, to organizing your customized itinerary while you are here with us, we take the planning and prep work out.
Without all this added stress, your vacation can start even earlier.
Beach Break Surf Camp
Beach Break Surf Camp is a playful, family focused community, nestled into the beach of Playa Venao. With their clean, simple rooms, perfect for groups and families, you will feel instantly at home and relaxed. As you wake up and simply open your door, you are welcomed by the sound of the waves rolling in and the sun glinting off the ocean. With the beach side restaurant, sandy beach, pool, and amazing indoor mat space that hosts Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Animal Flow, Yoga, Meditation, Sound Healing and more, you may never need to leave the grounds of Beach Break.
There are multiple bedroom options available: 2 person rooms for those traveling with one adult and a child, 3 person rooms and 4+ person rooms. Whatever you need, Beach Break has you covered.
There is also a shared kitchen for all guests who wish to prepare small meals or simply keep their snacks and drinks cool.

Space to Sleep and Rest
Beach Break offers a variety of bedroom options, suitable for all family types. In each room you will find:
- comfortable beds with various sleeping arrangements (twin, full, queen and bunks available)
- air conditioning
- hot water to rinse away the day's salt and sand
- complimentary wifi around the entire grounds and in your rooms
- en suite bathrooms for each room
- outdoor chairs and side table for sipping that morning coffee while watching the sun rise
- a small desk and table
- storage for clothing and other small items
- curtain dividers in room for changing/sleeping privacy
- personal hammocks for each room outside your door

What is Included in Your Full Retreat?
Just sit back and let us do the work! We have organized a week like no other, offering amazing amenities and experiences with options, flexibility and as always, fun!
INCLUDED:
- First night stay in Panama City, at the Hotel Executive
- All ground transportation to and from Playa Venao
- 5 night stay at ocean front Beach Break Surf Camp
- All Breakfasts (all inclusive can be added)
- Personalized, professional surf lessons for the entire family from the experts at Beach Break
- Daily classes in yoga, mediation, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai/Animal Flow
- 2 hours a day of "My Moments" - time where your children will be cared for and provided with exciting activities, sports, wellness techniques and social interaction, all while you take time to relax alone or jump into one of our specially curated experiences.
- One session of each wellness modality: couple's massage, sound healing, light therapy, breath work, cold plunge and varying workshops based on instructor's availability.
- Professional photos by "Broken Shoulder Surf", so you are able to relive your experiences and share your memories with friends and family back home.

- Day excursions such as whale watching, zip lining, deep sea fishing, kayak and paddle board excursions, extra wellness classes.

5 serene mornings await here in Playa Venao! If you are up early enough you can watch the sunrise with a warm cup of coffee in your hand (that you did not have to prepare). Feel the ocean breeze on your cheeks as your family prepares for a day of learning, play, growth and rest.
We do not put together an hourly itinerary for you. We give you lots of options that are included, we mention workshops and classes created especially for you, and curate an individual experience for each family that leaves you feeling full and refreshed.
Breakfast - Included at Gavilan everyday as part of your retreat package. Choose from a variety of items, the pancakes are always bit hit with the kids ;), and watch the waves roll in with your family as the kids go between bites of breakfast and running through the sand.
Muay Thai and Animal Flow - Get your body moving first thing! Learn the basics of these practices, enhancing mobility, strength, coordination and technique. With super friendly instructors, who make classes fun, no experience is required! Come and move!
Yoga - Instead, do you feel like starting off your day with stretching, meditation and preparing to be present and at ease? Join Roni in the Beach Break gym for daily yoga and meditation (included for the family). You will leave with tools you can implement at home and understand the power of meditation for reducing stress and racing thoughts.
Surf Lesson - Daily lessons for anyone in the family who wants to learn from the best on the best beach for beginners. Whether this is your first time touching a surf board, or you're a seasoned pro, Beach Break coaches are well trained, friendly and at expert level to support you. They will help you feel comfortable and excited to get out on the water and stretch yourself with this new sport. Don't worry, they can teach any age and any level...so jump on in and see why surfers say they are addicted for life.
Your afternoons can be as full or as quiet as you wish. We pre-plan activities for at least 2 hours a day, so you can sink into kid-free time. You can take the opportunity to sleep, surf, join new experiences...alone or with your partner.
Lunch - Venture out to one of the many surrounding restaurants/cafés, prepare a meal in the kitchen or opt in to all inclusive food at Gavilan and enjoy another delicious item off their menu.
Kid Free Zone - Here is what makes us stand out! We offer you at least 2 hours a day of time when your children will be well cared for, provided with fun, interesting activities of their own and often surrounded by other local children. We started with kids camps, so we know how to help kids have an amazing time, while you get to decide how you spend your down time. Do you take advantage of one of the many included parent zone options including a couple's massage or sound healing? Sit ocean front with a cocktail? Add in an extra surf lesson? Try light therapy for the first time? Read a book and slowly doze off to the sounds of the beach? It is your time!
Back Together - Once you are reunited with your kids, each day may be a bit different. Want to have an ocean swim? Go for it! Maybe an extra excursion awaits...ziplining through the jungle, whale watching out on the ocean, waterfall chasing along the river, or your kids can join the afternoon jiu jitsu classes that are filled with local kids!

Salsa Night - Join us at Gavilan for a group salsa lesson! Fun and laughter are guaranteed as you step your way into the local salsa flare!
The Final Night of your stay in Venao, we will offer a kids-only movie night, snacks included of course, making it easy for you and your partner to head out for a final dinner together. Enjoy each other's company and see how you can implement the wellness tools you learned here in Venao, to bring more peace and ease into your everyday lives. Which is our ultimate goal at Shaka Wellness!

Take a moment for you. As parents, our vacations revolve around creating precious long lasting memories, but sometimes we leave feeling more exhausted than when we arrived. Our desire at Shaka Wellness is to provide you with both memories, and time for you to unwind.
For those 2 hours a day, where you are guaranteed safe, creative, nearby childcare, you can be at ease and sink into one of the many INCLUDED divine amenities we offer.

Light Therapy - Sit back and feel the calming effects of light therapy. With research showing improvements in skin, mood, sleep, depression, anxiety, you may want to find a therapist once you get back home. One included session for 2 adults with your full retreat package!
Sound therapy - Also called sound baths, this wellness technique has a lot of research behind it. With marked changes in emotional states and physical pain levels, this effective experience also will improve sleep, improve concentration, raise energy levels and create a deeper sense of well being. One included session for 2 adults with your full retreat package!
Massage - Who doesn't love a massage? Find the perfect space and our travel masseuse will meet you there! Want to relax under the shade of a tree, or in the quiet of your room? Sink into relaxation just a little bit more and enjoy your moment. One included session for 2 adults with your full retreat package!
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu - Daily kid and adult classes for all levels! This sport is a main focus on our beach! Led by 2 stripe Black Belt, Professor John Boyle, he will have you feeling comfortable on the mats and you will see why the majority of our local children train with him. Your children will connect with lots of children and discover what this art is all about. Who knows...it may fuel a lifelong passion!
Herbalism for the Whole Family - Enjoy a discussion and tasting experience of various herbs, teas, infusions, balms and tinctures that can increase the health and wellness for all members of your family. (Pending availability of the instructor).
Cold Plunge - Learn the art of controlling your breath in stressful situations! Release those cold proteins and experience how powerful you truly are. It is ok to be uncomfortable...it is even good for you!
Deep Sea Fishing - Venture out on the ocean in the early morning light and try your luck! Known as a top spot for sport fishermen, our experienced charter will take you out into the calm waters and give you the best opportunity for catching your lunch!
Horseback Riding - Sunset never looked as beautiful as it does while riding a horse through the surf. Book for just you and your partner or your entire family!
Additional Experiences Available:
Isla Iguana Excursion - Take an entire day off and venture out to clear waters and white sands. As the name suggests, this island is filled with iguanas (and hermit crabs). Take a short boat ride out to the island and spend the morning exploring the space, scuba diving in the shallow fish filled waters and playing in the white sands.
Kayak/SUP tours - explore the mangroves and their wildlife up close with a kayak/SUP tour in nearby Cañas.
